Becoming a member of our credit union family is easy!
- Visit the branch or request an application to be mailed.
- Present photo ID in person or in presence of notary if out of town.*
- Deposit and maintain $20 minimum balance in Share Savings Account.
*New Account Requirement
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
When you open an account or if you are added as a joint member on an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that allows us to identify you. You must present a photo ID with your current address on it for proof of eligibility. Minors will need their Social Security Card. New accounts opened outside the office must be notarized.
History
The Lexington Postal Credit Union was established in February 1928 to serve the employees of the United States Postal Service in Fayette and surrounding counties. The Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative and over time has expanded its field of membership and services to become a full-service financial institution.
In September 2018, a new main office was built off the USPS property. The name was updated to Lexington Postal Community Credit Union to reflect this broader community accessibility.
One thing remains consistent as things changed over the years—our commitment to the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.”
Credit Unions traditionally offer lower rates on loans and lower fees for services than for-profit banking institutions. However, the most important difference is YOU own your credit union! You’re a member, not a customer!
Mission Statement
Lexington Postal Community Credit Union is committed to making available financial products and services that will enable our members and potential members to understand and meet their financial needs, while maintaining competitive loan and savings rates, and preserving the stability and confidence in the Credit Union.
